We gathered shisha lounges across eight Tokyo areas where official information confirms a private room, fully private room, or VIP room. Shinjuku’s seven private-room lounges have their own guide; for the other seven areas, we list eight lounges you can choose by how the room fee works or by group size, from ERIN with no room fee to BELLKISH with 10 fully private rooms. Information was checked on October 18, 2026 (the Shinjuku section was updated on October 19), and the order groups lounges by area; it is not a ranking.

This guide lists lounges whose official information describes a “private room,” “fully private room,” or “VIP room.” Lounges with only semi-private seating are not included (ERIN is listed because its official site calls its curtain-screened room a private room). Shinjuku and Shibuya each have a guide covering only their lounges with private rooms, and many Roppongi, Ebisu, and Akasaka lounges stay open late, so check hours in each station guide against your trip home. No private room has been confirmed among the lounges in the Ikebukuro guide.

First-time shisha guide

Shisha is enjoyed by warming flavored tobacco with charcoal and drawing the smoke through water. Some lounges allow several people to share one pipe, but table charges, sharing fees, and drinks may be added. Private rooms may be limited, so confirm group size, availability, and the room fee when booking.

See the Tokyo shisha guide for the citywide overview and beginner information.
